Biography

An award-winning artist of international stature, Eugene Albulescu is a celebrated pianist, conductor, multimedia artist, composer and educator based in eastern Pennsylvania. Winner of the “Grand Prix du Disque Liszt,” Albulescu emerged on the international scene in 1994 when his debut cd “Albulescu Plays Liszt” earned the prestigious award. Since then Albulescu has performed and recorded on four continents. Performances have included recitals, solo concerto appearances and conducting engagements at major venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, and with major orchestras such as the Romanian National Philharmonic the New Zealand Symphony the French Chamber Orchestra and New York Chamber Orchestra. His recording credits include broadcasts of live studio performances in large markets that include New York City (WNYC), and Philadelphia (WRTI), national broadcasts on NPR’s “Performance Today”, as well as studio recordings for Radio New Zealand Concert and South African Broadcasting Corporation. Commercial recordings include releases for ODE/BMG, Naxos, Trust, Downstage and AMP labels. Eugene Albulescu is a Steinway artist who teaches on the music faculty at Lehigh University.
